Set up an attacker by using Superpower/Close Combat or other moves then flipping the drops. As long as Malamar and the partner can survive one turn you can benefit from it.

I guess give your ally a berry that boosts stats and then use Teatime to pop the berry immediately?
Could also fuck over opponents by making them eat their HP berry or type resistance berry at the wrong time.

Its not "situational" its just plain shit, practically all grass types can boost themselves with growth, and there are many other ally stat boosting moves that can be used on all types.

You can use it without your grassmons needing to waste a turn boosting. So they can attack immediately after getting the boost.
Doesn't make it good, but not objectively worse than growth.
