Snap is most interesting to those who grew up in the pokemania era for the nostalgia factor, but /vp/ is mostly just a bunch of 13-16 year olds.

There just isn't much to say about it now because it hasn't released and there's no leak. We already know basically all the game mechanics are staying the same from before, with one or two extra flourishes is about it.
I'm still excited though, the first Snap was an excellently made rail shooter with a twist and the fact that this is keeping a lot of the main mechanics completely intact is a great sign.
They already said over 200 Pokemon will be in this one, I'm assuming that means less than 250, gonna put it around 220 for the final expectations.
Has anyone counted all the pokemon seen in all the trailers yet?

Have we actually seen these in the trailers?
From what I've seen there's only 4 "main" areas
>beach
>desert
>jungle
>forest
I'm guessing each main areas has a few subareas like the underwater section in the beach level. Plus the Pokemon that appear change depending on if it's daytime or nightime.

Counting the pokemon we've seen so far, we've only seen about 115. We still have around 85 pokemon to see, and that's if the game only has 200 pokemon. They're could be more.

There's nothing to fucking speculate. It's a photography game with limited content. Once everyone has seen all the Pokemon and scenes the game has to offer after like 20 hours of gameplay the only people that will keep playing it are autists obsessed with the online leaderboards trying to get a slightly better picture of a Pikachu eating a fucking apple. The game is cute but there's literally nothing to speculate, as a concept it's already completely bereft of content.

Except tons of people have hundreds of hours in SWSH without doing autistic shit like competitive battling and shiny hunting. Even just doing comfy things like camping and catching Pokemon provides a ton of content. Snap won't have that. It's a fucking ON-RAILS photography game. Once you have a decent picture of every Pokemon in the game there's nothing left to do and considering the game will only have ~200 and none of them will be hard to find there isn't going to be any lengthy gameplay at all.

Anon you literally have no control of the fucking cart. The game is on-rails and you're given a camera just like the original. The Pokemon fucking come to you and all you can do to interact with them is throw shit at them. There's not going to be any meaningful content. Anyone who isn't a leader board autist will take a halfway decent pic of every Pokemon in the game (around 200) and then go play something else. If you think otherwise your expectations for this game are way too high.

The original Snap was released during the middle of Pokemania and its entire premise was 3D Pokémon on a console. That novelty wore off a long time ago, as 3D games are a dime a dozen and standards for video games have gone up. There is so much on the market now that 6-7 on rails stages 5 minutes long each is underwhelming in comparison.

incorporates berries & day/night. shinies are a HUGE deal in this game; Ruins of Alph-ish stuff is also important like pokemon signs in the first one.

incorporates the new berries, the pokenav/split paths and pokemon have animations based on natures; there is a wet/dry theme, but the major element is weather.
>Snap DP (Wii)
flick remote to throw things & point at screen to aim camera; last stage is distortion world. overall this entry is the most focused on capturing legendaries on film. the regis/regigigas are a major quest.
>Snap BW (Wii again, but with very specific Wii motion plus controls for everything like skyward sword)
this game is about the seasons and takes place in a deserted island that was full of urban development in the past, nature is taking it over.
>Snap XY (WiiU)
similar to the cockpit stuff in Starfox Zero but it works better here; Hoopa rings are used to warp between areas in this entry; you can throw a mega stone (you have to find these in the courses) once per stage and you have a 10 second timer to snap photos before they revert.
>Snap SM (Switch)
incorporates Pokeride and has Ultra wormhole courses. Alolan forms are also hyped up.
>Snap SwSh (Switch again/Switch 2)
incorporates Gigantamax forms as vaguely boss fights which occur in the regular courses but change the AI of everything. you need to solve a puzzle to get the giant pokemon to show on film.

I don't think it's a pokeflute but they mentionned you could play music in the latest trailer.
Pester balls were probably removed because too violent.

Finally, a general that's just only about Pokemon. No pointless schizo nonsense nor threats of any. I'm looking very forwards to this relaxing game. Also, incorporating the actual Pokemon lore to expand on its roster is always welcome.

Thinking the same anon, why not have some fun shitpost screenshots?

The thing I love most about modern snap, is that it's what I wish Pokemon would behave like in the actual overworld encounters. They wouldn't just randomly spawn walking aimlessly, they'd interact with the world. I sincerely hope we one day get a game that has it all. But for now, I'll settle on Snap and hope it's as fun as the original was.
