>>46870608I'm sure many others have said these already, but personally I can't decide between BW2, Platinum, and HGSS. There is just so much to do in all of these, and in the case of the former two, the main campaigns are some of the best in the series. Not that HGSS's are bad or anything, they're just definitely the weakest of the three.
>>46870615I'm going to have to agree with the other folks, going through all those cutscenes is a slog, even if I do like the story it tells. At least the Ultra games have some interesting postgame quests and side content.
>>46870651What makes XY and SS replayable to you? Besides Crowned Tundra, I don't think either of those have anything going for them.
>>46870772ORAS I can sort of understand (it even has a pretty decent postgame), but I just find XY too unengaging. The huge dex just feels cramped and disjointed to me, and I wish they could have added more than just 80 mons. Even still, I don't care much for the variety if the battles you're up against aren't very fun.
>>46870814You're completely right on FRLG, but personally I don't get a lot of the hype behind Emerald. Is it good, with a pretty strong campaign? Absolutely. But I still find it weaker then anything in, say, my first reply, and notwithstanding the Battle Frontier there isn't much to do in the postgame.
>>46870838I like the original RBY because the unbalanced and janky gen 1 mechanics make for a fun, unique experience compared to the later games. Aside from that, they have the least interesting and varied dex/region, as well as some of the most boring trainer battles in the series (only better than XY and probably SS). FRLG eschews all of the ups while maintaining all of the downs, and while the postgame content is decent for its time, it's still not worth the slog that is the main game. I consider it a good example of a remake being faithful to a fault.
