it's not the same thing with Kanto starters. Gen 4 starters were made to check each others while Kanto starters were made based on Grass > Water > Fire > triangle

Charizard literally got a Fire/Dragon typing to make it not garbage in meta and it still wasn't that great

mega evolution is a temporarily battle evolution, not a life long solution.
Gamefreak will keep making future Kanto games so if they changed Charizard to Fire/Dragon then the type triangle will become pointless and Charizard has no weakness from Blastoise
