Morgrem's skin meanwhile isn't pink but much more on the red side, and it starts to get the green coloration, which comes to dominate it as Grimmsnarl.
Guys can have long hair, and a young newborn creature being pink doesn't mean it isn't a guy.
Also, Trolls and many other creatures are commonly depicted with their gross, black greasy hair. Hair was also believed to be where magic or power was stored, which is why Hatterene and Grimmsnarl share this theme of hair. Samson (from the bible iirc) is another really big example here too, since he had superhuman strength that was granted to him via his hair and lost it when it got cut.
