Brick Bronze thinking it was going to be an easy kids game, and somebody had sold me on the online having only legit pokemon with no hacks and a ton of little kids that barely knew pokemon at all to mess around and have fun with.
It was a little painful because the story was actually pretty challenging, but his night shade and sucker punch were actually pretty useful, and Bug/Poison is a cool type to work with in later gens.
Sticky Web was a shitstomper in online. All the young players stacked their teams full of fast frail attackers. They were food for my Nidoking and Medicham. A highlight was somebody offering their Greninja-Ash (which I think costed real money) for my Ariados and I had to explain to him how easy it was to find the guy Ariados evolved from.
thats the most success i have had out of a shitty pokemon post the stories of yours
