Optional tutorials. Seriously just put a notification on screen that tells you that you've got a new skill without stopping the game or making you sit through the info dump and make the tutorials accessible from the pause menu. That way it's not a mandatory thing but the info is there and easily accessible at any time for new players without having to backtrack to a specific npc for a refresher.

Outside of battle, you can freely switch what moves a pokemon uses in battle from a list of all the moves they've learned. You still have 4 slots, of course.

So instead of just being able to skip cutscenes and tutorials, you still want all the mandatory cutscenes every 5 meter, just to fast forward them instead?

If you dont want to play the game, play afk arena instead

I know you can technically do it with trading, but I would rather it just be a feature.

And the entire slog of pushover trainers leading up to the post-game facilities? Sure, not every battle needs to be a huge challenge, but when you've got 6th gym+ trainers without full teams and the most interesting thing they're doing is giving one of their monotype team members an extra coverage move there's a game design problem.

If we want actually good difficulty i would love to see them actually REDUCING amount of crap player is given away. Instead of showing down player's throat 30k pokedollars, 10 potions, 10 balls and bunch of other items i would prefer GF to make people CARE about that potion or antidote found on the map.

Just give us more creative challenges like including more battle styles throughout the game instead of just tossing in a double battle or two and using singles 99.9% of the time and restricting the rest to post game facilities. Give us npcs with strategies beyond just what type they specialize in, some of them can be easier ones with random themes that may not be tough but are at least fun to encounter like what animal their pokemon are based on, but also give us trainers that rely on trapping you with chip damage moves, bogging you down with status effects, or leaning into either physical or special move sets. The battle system has a lot of depth without even touching natures, ev training, ect but instead of giving the player a reason to explore those possibilities the games do everything they can to prioritize 18 way rock-paper-scissors. If battles are the main gameplay focus that players spend 70% of their time on they should give it the attention and care to make it engaging at all levels of skill.
