>>46887193>important characters, not being shallow and forgettable by interacting with you, is just too muchThat's the thing though, most of them still ARE shallow and forgettable.
You're just forced to interact with them over and over again, where they manage to say nothing at all, repeat themselves constantly, and eventually have an '''''''''''arc''''''''''' that could be summed up in a sentence but takes GF hour after agonizing hour of gameplay to walk you through (usually by having them be exactly the same in every single interaction, then suddenly having a realisation out of the blue in the lategame that immediately changes them into a totally different character).
Are you really gonna imply that someone like Lillie isn't 'shallow and forgettable' despite having endless mountains of pointless dialogue to trawl through? Quantity of interactions doesn't suddenly make her anything other than a bland charisma-vacuum with no discernable character traits besides being vaguely timid.
There are a handful of Pokemon characters I enjoy bumping into, but they're few and far between. And even the ones I do like could be rewritten by someone competent to say exactly the same in 1/4 the amount of time GF allocates to them
