Choose a move that never sees any competitive play and buff it so it at least can be used as a niche option for pokemon that can fully utilize it. Then detail how it can be useful.

>Slam will now increase your accuracy by 1 stage if it misses
-Counters Minimize/Double Team setup
-Synergizes well with Hustle/Blunder Policy (Dracozolt learns it which makes it a great option)

Typhlosion's Eruption. Gayfreak made Typhlosion shit on purpose so she didn't overshadow Charizard.

THEY GAVE CHARIZARD WEATHER BALL THAT IN SUNNY DAY HITS AS HARD AS ERUPTION WITH NO DRAWBACK.

Eruption is the only thing typhlosion has, and it isn'r even used.

Make it so eruption never loses power even after taking damage.

You are a fucking idiot. +1 ac on a miss wont do fucking shit. Against minimize it’ll still take forever for ur ac to be raises enough to reliably land hits and you’re using a base 80 normal attack which is fucking useless. Anytime u miss just in general its a fucking bad turn, but moves like Focus Blast are mandatory cause they’re good coverage. Slam is fuckign worthless and no its not good synergy cause Blunder Policy is a fucking meme and hustle with a 75% acc move makes it 60% acc aka fucking useless and no the raising acc part is still fucking worthless and not worth ur time holy fuck these retards here

I get this thread is fun and I’m not insinuating anything about yourself OP, but I always find it funny that people who claim to be Pokémon’s biggest fans nearly dilate at the sight of moves that are for early-game RPG purposes.

Anyway, keep all moves as they are and make battles Dynamic. Pokémon learn moves in ‘lines’ (Ember > Flame Burst > Flamethrower > Fire Blast) that not only have different secondary affects and accuracies along with the increase in power, but also take a different amount of mana/shared PP/a gauge. Pokémon don’t have ‘moveslots’ but instead have ‘lineslots’, so space for four lines of move.

That way you can spit off an Ember as a finishing move or to not waste a move on the switch. It’s not meant to be viable to the tier of Flamethrower or Fire Blast, but it still has a use.

Alternatively, Technician clone that raises the power of moves >40 by 2.5x (up to 100).

Elemental Punches/Fangs has a 30% status chance (apart with the flinch chance with the fangs).

Drain Punch drops physical defense by a stage while absorbing 30% of the HP.
