Pokémon has always been about the Pokemon (shocker I know). Pokémon is about traveling the world, exploring different regions, discovering an immense variety of fantastical creatures, adding them to you collection, building friendships with them, training them to reach their potential, taking them along as you traveling to other regions, and building connections with other trainers due to your shared interest in Pokémon. Obviously people had their different tastes, but not matter what ALL Pokémon were worthy of existing.

When Game Freak implemented Dexit, it was them saying that over half of all Pokémon aren't a priority to them. Then by leaving 29% of previous Pokemon out of the DLC, they basically told everyone that those Pokemon didn't deserve to exist in Galar at all and by extension, said that fans of those Pokémon don't deserve to be part of the franchise.

The main story of the game is relatively short and extremely easy. Most of the actual gameplay is in the postgame, and any real challenge is against other humans.

Gen 7 was clearly an effort to make a good game. It failed in a lot of ways, but there was a clear intent on replicating BW2 with SM at least.
I'd say the remakes ORAS and USUM were less about good games and more about QOL changes, with an eye towards PVP or competitive. Getting mons, breeding perfects, and completing the dex was easier than ever in the remakes.
Then you have LGPE which was not aimed at /vp/ or hardcore fans at all, but was bait to get GO players thirsty for the shit sandwich that was SWSH.

That’s the biggest problem, they removed 29% of Pokémon and nothing they have is us justified it: Shit graphics, shit story writing, models are the same and any changes to animations and the textures are a lateral change at best.
Home could have saved this but it’s nothing but a glorified prison. If Home at least had battles and ways to train then that would justify its existence.

And that is not to mention the fact that the 3d models for background locations and characters and their animations are all much more detailed now in Console games, and the ALSO fact that with the rising fidelity of HD systems it means future games will once again have to reach even higher in that aspect, and also the fact that eventually the Pokemon models will be too outdated and need to be re-done, and fucking lmao if you think any company wants to deal with the logistics nightmare of "gotta do new models for 1300 fuckers at the same time"

Every single character in SwSh has a more detailed rig and animations than the ones in 3DS games, and the animations of the new Pokemons are also clearly superior to the ones the old ones had, to the point where it's a bit embarrasing to put them next to each other in Camp.

He didn't even need to say anything about lowering expectations. Gen 6 was carried by online interactions with a way better connection than what was capable in the DS. Everything else was so much worse it didn't even make sense. I expected 3D models as good as in the stadium games, with quirky and cool animations. Instead everything looks rounder. What was supposed to be cool is now fat. I expected better story after gen 5, because things are supposed to evolve. Gen 4 had mediocre storytelling but gen 5 had a decent one. So the expectation was for a better story too, instead we got the second dumbest villain in the franchise.

3DS era as a whole was a fucking mistake, the worst game and the worst remakes. USUM were good games but not good enough to compensate. And now SwSh shows us that nothing has changed. Storytelling has become even worse, gameplay is the same but somehow worse due to how dynamax works. Getting rid of the other gimmicks to allow that in the game. Dex cut isn't even something new, they already did this shit before, but this is the first time I see they selling a DLC instead of making another whole game to fix it. It's literally the single laziest generation because everything will be fixed by buying multiple DLCs. And that might become the norm too. The same people who complain about EA will be consuming pokemon DLC like the retards they are.
