So we all know that a really big problem many pseudo starters have is their base evolutions are usually either very late game or even post game, and they also tend to evolve at very high levels, which makes using them typically something of a grind since you can't just throw them on your team that late in the game. On the other side of the spectrum, we all know the early route bug types are something that evolve very quickly, before you even get to the first gym in some games, but then are typically boxed for the rest of the playthrough.
Considering that bug is the only type that has not been paired with dragon, and that the only three stage bug Pokemon are all early route ones, why not make Gen IXs pseudo-legendary the early route bug Pokemon? It would be a perfect combination of giving people motivation to actually keep the weak useless bug around the whole game while also giving the sense of progression and reward that a pseudo-legendary should have; going from useless to awesome.
A couple of the pseudos already borrow the same aesthetics as bugs anyway, such as going from a larva to a pupa.
