I think XY should be forgiven for the most part

>At the same time, Sun and Moon were already in development
>Had to create an entirely new engine for the 3DS
It's a surprise it's as good as it was. There was clear passion, and XY saved the series from BW (not that I dislike Black and White.) It even brought the community back together. It's sad it didn't get the Z it deserved, it would've been (near objectively) one the best games in the mainline series.
