Really, Rufflet/Braviary ie "WARgle" should've been Fighting/Flying, learning Close Combat upon evolution and a few other fighting type moves aside from Superpower. As far as being a counterpart type goes, Vullaby/Mandibuzz wasn't even a consideration till the last minute anyways, and this has been confirmed.
A fighting type eagle who hunts for prey vs a dark type scavenger bird who attempts to steal the catch? Talk about a missed opportunity for two mons who are suppose to be "counterparts" of one another, seems like the typing only enhances the theme.
