>>46907176Fossil Fighters, and yes it’s a great series on the DS. You excavate fossils from rock to create revived dinosaurs called Vivosaurs, who can then be put into Rotation-esque battles. In the second game, Champions, you can change the palette and stats due to silver fossils, and evolve some of them with gold fossils. Don’t try out the third game, Frontier, tho. Another set of Devs made it and it shows hard, they butchered combat (keeping it 3v3 but making 2/3rds of the Vivos AI controlled) and the overworld (literally everyone is talking trucks), the only thing they didn’t butcher was fossil excavation. The second game actually has a niche but dedicated competitive community, though they’re mainly holed up in a Discord.
I also posit Digimon Dusk/Dawn, tho admittedly I grew up on them. I loved making Jogress Lines in the game (think breeding chains on meth) to get cool moves on my Digimon following themes. Digimon Xros on the DS might also be good, but since it was in moonrune up until the last few years I didn’t get around to it.
Also Yo-Kai Watch is pretty good, very easy to cheese tho on the 3DS (just scan pic related and rake in the Holy Exporbs)
