>>46906787Fair, I understand the temptation to make a big show of your characters, but when you go with the usual structure everyone uses for everything it can get tiresome and clog up the end of the game with a lot of garbage nobody cares about. The more subtle things going on with Bianca after Nimbasa is way better than anything in Lillie's story. I think my biggest takeaway from Bianca's story is that she still beat every single gym, but decided that isn't where her heart is, regardless of how she feels about her own strength. Compare that to Cheren, who by the end of the game is still not sure what he wants to be. Like, their characterization in B2W2 makes sense, but I only knew what Bianca would be doing for sure. Sorry if I'm being weird about this, it's rare we actually get a character in a Pokemon game. Heck, I could argue similar things for other 2010 JRPGs, people fucking loved Xenoblade and I think the characters are okay at best, it's a little to shonen for my taste (for the record, I like Xenoblade 2 better as it's more Xenogears but less depressing).
