No, it gets more. Along with Charizard, Gengar is the only Pokemon that's received a "super form" in two different generations. On top of that, Gengar is actually a viable Pokemon without one of those forms.

Comp viability is shilling now? You ought to consider the pseudos more shilled than zard. Gengar gets the forms but pales in comparison to the universally shilled zard. I don't remember red mega evolving one of the two zard forms in Origins.

Was its poison typing a substitute for moves like hex/curse? As in poison DOT manifesting as a lingering curse as the first ghost type pokemon? None of its dex entries really scream poison type to me, mono ghost gengar seems more natural IMO

based opinion, gigantamax gengar doesn't really fit with the design. Portal to the spirit world is more of a dusknoir thing, but the funhouse entrance motif doesn't really make sense since gengar are only really 'clowny' in the anime.

People get less mad at Gengar shilling because its a standalone pokemon whereas Zard is supposed to be just one of a trio, but gets obvious favoritism above the other two and intentionally or not gives the impression that the company is saying it is the "correct" choice
