Will the new animations in Snap be repurposed for Legends? So Pokemon are more active in the environment and react and interact with each other without player input? They wouldn't make new animations just to throw them away, right?

The "new" animations are the animations they'd made for Gen VII that were unused in the code, ya fucking wet. My Primarina follows the exact same way as the swimming one does in the snap trailer.

They absolutely will. We can already see this with how there were low-poly version models of every Pokemon in Sun and Moon, which could have been used for LODs and significantly improve performance. But they decided not to use those so we're stuck with Pokemon popping out of the ground from 5 feet away.

What? Of course they're reusing animations for walking and other interactions, but watch the trailers attentively and you'll see they have new animations since some Pokemon are climbing trees and they're picking shit up from the ground and eating it like Dodrio there

Pokemon don't seem to be popping in close in Legends though, we saw a few Shinx farther away than most SWSH spawns.

You understand? If Ishihara's gone to the arse of letting Creatures add new anims to one of his spin-offs, Game Freak were looking them for their shit. All this means is Aipom's likely confirmed for Legends 100% now.

If these are actually new animations, these aren't the same devs so don't expect anything
It's as hopeless as for desperate people who want the Masters models to be reused in future games despite their technical inferiority and unanimatable facial features

1440p. The visuals look genuinely terrible, especially compared to games like Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion and hell, even Wii U ports like Pikmin 3 and Tropical Freeze.

You know, I had some hope in this one as Bandai Namco was developing it and they did a good job with Pokken... but that first level looked fairly lackluster.

At first I thought I was just being negative, but then I watched the first level of the original game and the difference was night and day:
>in the original Pokémon actually made noises, in New they barely make their in game sounds
>in the original almost every Pokémon in the first level was doing a unique animation or scenario, in New they just sort of walked around slowly
>due to those unique animations Pokémon in the original could actually be hard to get a picture of, in New everything is just moving at a snails pace
>in the original Pokémon in the levels had a sense of “place”, in the New one they just seem randomly thrown in the level to walk around

I’m hoping the people that played the first level just did a bad job at showing it off, or maybe the real “meat” of that level is on a different path, because where as I was entertained watching the first level of the original Snap play out, the New Snap’s first level was fairly boring. Hope I’m not just being negative...

And TPC were funding it anon. That means they weren't spending more than what absolutely had to on producing (or rather, paying someone to produce) it. It's fucking hilarious how you can age the anon, by their assumptions of game development.

Didn’t they fund Pokken as well? It seems like even with a low budget they could have done some animation work/scenario planning, and again, maybe it’s in there and the people they chose to demo it just did a really bad job. There have been other games that the marketing has made look awful.
