And here is the real problem BW's writers put Ash back under the situation of a rookie trainer, making mistakes that were no longer compatible with the growth of the character, if anyone paid attention Iris had a lot of respect for competent trainers (Cynthia, Drayden, Claire) it would have been interesting to see Iris coexist with the Ash from DP or XY, but I have to admit it would get boring in the long run.
