I disagree. For me gen 7 was the peak of the series thus far and gen 5 almost made me quit Pokemon altogether. Glad I stuck with it but fuck that was rough.

To be honest BW2 wasnt all that good. It was easier than BW though it did add somethings some players liked. The PWT for instance is something that is regarded as one of the better things added in BW2. Though to be honest I think that BW2 was the beginning of the end for Pokemon just because of how easy they made the games. The gym leaders were pretty and the handholding in the games although not as bad in later Pokemon games is quite prevalent. Although Gen 5 is my favourite gen I can see why most people hate it. I mean sure the routes are linear but the lore and the story in BW which is continued and expanded BW2 is what made the games great in the first place. The soundtrack wasnt bad either. But to be honest the Gen 5 games were what made me get into Pokemon in the first place. Pokemon from Gen 5 onwards has been churning out half-baked games ever since. Though Gen 7 is an exception to this.

It was so bad I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I had to force myself to finish BW1. Haven't played a new Pokemon game since. BW2 killed my love for the series and turned me into an old man longing for the "good old days."

It's good but not the best.

"Beginning of the end" is a good description.

Reminiscent of ORAS eventually giving you Latias/Latios for free.

Other than a few frustrations like that, the game is pretty solid
