Literally 99% of the Game, in both Single and Multiplayer, is battles. People who like a shitmon don't like it BECAUSE it's a shitmon. No one looks at a Pokémon and says, "This thing sucks, its my new favorite forever." Meanwhile Pokemon have become worshiped solely because how good they are in battle. Do you really think Johto would be shit on all the time if so many Pokemon there weren't shitmons and 2/3 of the starters weren't fucked over by Game Freak? Pokemon being strong makes them popular, and being popular makes them marketable. Having every Pokemon be viable can only be good for Game Freak AND the Fans.
