Motion controls are still a gimmick that still doesn't feel comfortable or accurate, and certainly not for GO catching
I would argue that having regular turn based catching is more engaging because you have to be gentler on the wild Pokemon as opposed to one-shotting it outright. There's more factors to account for:
>the levels and current HP of both mons>the typing of your mon and theirs>movepools, especially if you need false swipe or a status effect move>preparing with healing items because if it doesn't catch soon you're gonna get wailed on for several turns. This is important for catching legendaries without a Master Ball.Not to mention that GO catching doesn't even require the use of your own Pokemon.
It's ok to like LGPE, but using GO catching only for future games would not be a healthy design choice.
