Hi Jump Kick:
Stronger than a Jump Kick. If it misses, the attacker sustains 1/8 damage it should have caused.
I’m fairly certain it is a glitch, have you read the source code for Gen I? I can’t find it right now but I’m pretty sure this was confirmed a glitch. Stadium fixes this as well since jump kick and hi jump kick calculate recoil in the same way.

I only replay it with emulator speed up. Most pokemon games are honestly too slow and are exponentially better at a 2x or 4x speed.
This is the only real flaw and anything else is just seething.

It’s perfect as it is.
Dragon has only one move and some moves are broken but competetive wasn’t a thing back then and the game was yet to be discovered.
People always rate old games by new standarts but I know everyone loved it.

Overly varied in TMs. Gen 1 pokemon learn the most random shit. Bug sucked ass, and the only ghost line was also poison for some fucking reason, making psychic ridiculous as an attacking type. normal was so tanky and fighting moves were so dumpy that just having big hp and hard normal hits defined the game. It was pretty shit balance-wise. Also, the fact that once shinies were introduced in the next gen they decided the best color for every monster was puke fucking green.
