>>46923869>There is no strawman.I feel there is when you make a claim that every sequel has less content
> Routes in every game are linear. Some are though, even ignoring the optional HM routes, some bits of older games had more interesting designs when going through them...though in the super grand scheme yes...they all are technically linear since you go usually from one direction to another...if you really simplify everything
> backtracking to a hallway and then clicking A in front of a tree or a rock the game didn't let you click A in front of before isn't exploringexample please?
> So backtracking which isn't needed in the game because flying exists? While it does become redundant once you get fly by the time you unlock it you'd have just beaten sudowoodo meaning it would still be helpful to player for at minimum one gym and at most 3ish gyms plus it still gives you easy access between different areas of Johto
> Examples you gave to "counter" mineok first of all
1. All the examples you listed were from the Wild Area which I literally mentioned near the end since it actually was something I feel it did alright
2. The Wild Area isn't a route meaning it's weird to use ONLY examples from it to make a point
3. You put the Rotom Rally (which is a storyless sidequest/grinding bit) in defense of the sidebit of BW that attempts lore and interesting exploration
This feels like a weak way to compare bits while also relying ENTIRELY on the wild area...which considering my examples were all from routes it feels like a bit bad also the Rotom Rally defense is a bad comparison and showed you either didn't play Rotom Rally or the sidequest in BW...which is an oof.
