>>46924186>EmeraldJuan. Just fucking Juan. Wallace becoming the champion is meh, but it's the fact that his team is so fucking similar to Juan that pushes it over the edge. You literally JUST fought this asshole, but here he is again. If they had made Juan fucking, I don't know, Grass, or Poison, or fucking ANYTHING but Water, it would have been a much better fight. Honestly, I have a lot of problems with the Sootopolis gym anyways; it's only good in Ruby. In both Sapphire and Emerald, you hit it after fighting a million Team Aqua members and THEIR water teams, then you fight the Water Gym, it really needed to be something else in the first place.
Rayquaza being available before the E4. It's a fun experience to do it once, but after that one joyride, it haunts every single playthrough. Do you go get Rayquaza? It's optimal!
>PlatinumThey fucked up the midgame. D/P you could do Maylene or Wake in either order, in Platinum, you do Fantina, then are forced on a single path. I DO think Fantina is better as a third gym leader than a fifth, but removing the choice sucks balls, and while they did make the second one harder, they didn't really alter the level curve as a whole in my memory.
Charon & Looker are a giant fucking waste of time. They add nothing to the game, but add random scenes you need to mash through.
Maybe it's just me, but I actually preferred Flint's D/P team. I like the idea of an Elite Four member having a focus on a particular type, but building around it, instead of being stuck to it, it just feels right to me.
