Im not a genwunner but these are shit examples dude. None of those pokemon are badly designed or lazy. They serve their intended purpose well for an established first entry. These mons on the other hand are lazy calarts garbage courtesy of James and his crew of oompaloompa interns

Geodude is a rock with arms and angry eyes,Pidgey is litteraly just a bird with not other inspirations or origins and Muk is a generic slime monster that just gets bigger when it evolves.
Gen 1 has honestly the worst designs of the entire series and is only defended by nostalgia fags
