The confirmed existence of multiple universes and timeliness where different things can happen and different species of Pokemon or powers they can access expands the world of Pokemon to an insane level. I'm not limited anymore to just what my individual copy of the game presents. Most of Pokemon has always been role-playing and letting your imagination do most of the work, and the existence of a Pokemon multiverse essentially expands the boundaries of said imagining to infinity.
Gen 7 expanded on this even more thanks to the existence of ultra wormholes, and now not only can I imagine those other worlds but I can imagine them being connected. The lore and world building now is simply staggering and that's incredible to me. If this kind of scope isn't your thing and you'd prefer something a bit more grounded, that's totally cool and I get that. But for me? This is fucking amazing.
