playing through emerald for the first time in years made me realize how shit gen 6-8 really was. there is at least some difficulty and effort put into the games up to gen 5, but onwards its just not like it used to be.

Which of the Battle facilities is easiest? I've never done battle frontier before and I want to know if I can bring my in-game team to one of them and have a decent chance. Frontier sounds scary. My Pokemon all know Metronome and other meme moves.

I'll start a save with (unevolved) Mightyena, Cradily, Armaldo, Chimecho and Farfetch'd in LeafGreen. Not sure about the last one, maybe Skarmory, but I'll fill the spot with femNidoran in the early game.

Pike, and the second easiest (besides Factory) may be Arena, which is less frustrating, and also the most fun in my opinion.
I think it's only fun to use your favorites, so I personally got satisfied with only the Silver Symbols. If you have access to cheats, you can also optimize their EVs, IVs and Hidden Power.

you can beat any pokemon game by grinding a pokemon up enough. Not that you're wrong about the games being easy, but a solo-pokemon run is basically "Easier Mode"

buddy this is my in-game emerald team. there's no togekiss or eviolite. I just picked some Pokemon that I liked and taught all of them Metronome and other silly moves for fun. For example, my Togetic set is Metronome/Secret Power/Ancient Power/Baton Pass because I like when I roll the extra effects with Serene Grace.

Pic related, teams i've used so far for Ruby, Leaf Green and Fire Red on my dex quest. I was planning to do Sapphire before moving on to Emerald, but the second-hand save file on Sapphire has a bunch of TMs and i'm tempted to keep them for a bit longer before I wipe the file, especially if I want to fight the battle frontier later on.

Return/Teeter Dance/Substitute/Focus Punch is pretty useable, as long as you don't mind blowing TMs on it
