As for Chikorita, getting kidnapped by Silver is cucking it far more than it would've been if it was left alone, but then you add on that Chikorita loses every single battle to (You) and it all comes to a head in the postgame, when even Silver fucking hates it so much that he tries to give it back to Elm, only for the him to say "No, you keep it".
That's like trying to release Pikachu in Yellow and the PC says "uhhh Pikachu wouldn't like that".
