Japan has a different set of standards for this kind of thing, especially in manga, but that aside, the sterilization and cleanliness of Pokemon is a concept that I suspect to be largely propagated by westerners following Pokemania. Pokemon Origins opens with a feral as fuck fight between Squirtle and Charmander where Squirtle bites Charmander's face and it runs around screaming at the top of its lungs crying for help until Red finally loses. Pokemon is not a utopia.
Two.
Pokemon Adventures is actually really lighthearted, especially in its early chapters. All this shit about how dark it is is just an internet meme. It's no more out there than Dragon Ball. Straight down to nobody dying and everybody, even the bad guys, coming together to work as friends.
