Only thing that's ever captured that same level of sandbox fun Pokémon-wise for me was the first time I played Pixelmon, but obviously that's moreso just Pokémon with building than PMD in a first-person setting.
On an unrelated note, anyone remember a Roblox FPS where there was vehicle combat? I think the team buildings were yellow? I can't give much more description than that as I'm pretty sure it's been over a decade and my memories of Roblox are very fleeting
