My only issue with Sandslash is that it's pretty boring for a Pangolin, to the point that I didn't realize that it was ine. Then the Alolan form just drops the scales for generic spikes.

I used to include Shiftry on my teams to fill out a Fire/Fighting, Water/Psychic and Grass/Dark trio in my party in gen 3-4. It satisfied the autism of having secondary types being a type triangle themselves (although only Rock/Fighting/Flying was a true perfect triangle outside of the starter one I guess). But if you're doing actual strategy Shiftry was only ever good in a sun team, which doesn't make sense to have the water/psychic in. What a mess.

I always wanted to have Shiftry in my teams but he fell off hard after the league. Pretty much worthless for the Battle Frontier.

Tyrantrum. You'd think a Rock/Dragon T-rex would be awesome, but because of all the dinosaur and kaiju inspired Pokemon from the past that we've already had, it comes off underwhelming somehow. Aurorus at least has a more unique design and is based off a more obscure dinosaur.

I like it more than the other KANTOOOOOOOO bugs but it appears too late to be worth catching.
It should appear by the time Butterfree falls off instead of by the time all bug types fall off. Even worse in gen 2 when you can get Heracross way before it appears at all.

I know it was a little better in subsequent games with access to better moves but in gen three this thing was just. Fucking. Awful. It only had access to 60 base power moves for its stabs. Giga drain was its best bet for a grass move and it only had 60 base power and 5pp back then, oh and was also only availbale long after the 6th badge. I suppose you could try to run a sunnybeamer set but its usually too frail to set it up. It actually wasnt terribly slow at least by hoenn standards though. Just very frail and doesnt hit hard with weak stabs. I also dont understand why the fuck they gave it 100 attack. For fake out? Explosion in emerald? I cant remember if it gets brick break. I would redistribute its stats and tweak its design a little bit.

A little less frail and slightly faster. Can also hit harder. Tweaked the design a bit but kept the tengu thing going. Tried to make the hands seem more functional and organic. Removed the chin body and toned down the mullet and made it flow into a kind of tail. Added a scar on the belly.
