Please help with a rollout strategy

The onix thread inspired me to pick up one of my favourite pokemon again in a fr playthrough. And how much fun I had with using rollout with him.

My question is simple, what's the best set I can give a steelix that uses rollout?

I am giving it wide lens to boost its accuracy to 99%, max spdef, max hp, and defense curl to reach max 200,400 and 900 bade power.

How bad would that be in competitive? And how can I make it better?

I will appreciate all sincere advice.

rollout isn't even STAB my guy.
even IF you could pull off defense curl and 5 turns of rollout, you're still weaker than band aggron just unga bunga-ing head smash 6 times in a row, by a significant margin.

Nah, they'll switch to a bulky water or something while he using defense curl, and the massive amount of tempo he'll lose by not even punishing will lose him the game fast.

If it's for in-game or for wifi battle, just run whatever you want as long as you're having fun.

If it's for competitive, my most sincere advice would be not running rollout at all. Steelix doesn't even get STAB and you'll only put yourself in a disadvantage 9 out of 10 times; all you'll achieve is getting frustrated that your shit set is shit. You'd get much better results with head smash. Still, if you're decided to use rollout, I'd suggest the following:
>block
>defense curl
>rollout
>toxic/body press/earthquake/rest
The main drawback of rollout, besides being a shit move, is that they can just switch or protect or sub and avoid it. With block you can at least try to catch your foe off guard and trap something that can't touch steelix (looking at current RU, I guess that'd be crobat without u-turn, regidrago, some snorlax sets, toxtricity, umbreon), then set up the defense curl and try to land all 5 rollout turns on them. Your 4th move should be geared towards your goal: if you run wide lens, maybe you'll want rest to heal your steelix. If you're against a fatter team, maybe you'd want toxic to try to wear down things that don't give a shit about rollout. If you want to maximize what you can trap and beat 1v1, you'd want body press or EQ.

Onix gets STAB on Rollout, and the Defense boost from Defense Curl will boost Body Press alongside Eviolite.

Body press calculates damage with defense, not attack.
Choice band boosts attack, while eviolite boosts both defenses.

Any logical person would assume it to work that way, but it actually works the opposite:
