How does it make you feel to see a generation you hate obliterate the generations you love?

I think sword and shield are great so it feels correct.

SwSh was carried by the Switch AND over 20years of brand recognition. It should have overtaken GS within the first month.

It was the fastest-selling title in series history as well as continuing to hold the worldwide record at 6m in its first week. and as XY's sales didn't die out entirely after ORAS or even SM released, plus the fact the DLC outsold its third-version equivalents to the extent, Nintendo specifically mentioned it as being the driving force of their digital-only sales, it's not out the realms of possibility it overtakes GS. Especially if Legends IS all Game Freak release next year.

I'm not denying that SwSh could overtake GS. I was pointing out that the reasons why it might are due to factors outside of the quality of the games, since I'm pretty sure OP was trying to imply that SwSh selling more than GS meant that it was better than GS. (Genwarmongers always seem to pick on GSC for some reason).

Also if SwSh's DLC is being factored in, then shouldn't Crystal's sales be factored into GS. Third Versions were pretty much the early equivalent of DLC.
