Drapion is an Ogre Scorpion and based on a combination of monstrous ogre and venomous scorpion: it's not "literal scorpion", it's a yokai
Grapploct is the personified inversion of Octopus Wrestling (rather than a guy going out to sea to wrestle an octopus, it's an octopus coming on land to wrestle a guy)
Haxorus has no reason to be Dragon/Steel because no part of it's body is literal fucking metal or has any relation to metal; it's Tusks are just really hard scale and bone and are capable of cutting through steel
