>>47007023There's plenty of stuff from across the franchise that shows that they are more than capable of direct communication with people, so that would be the best approach to take with anything consensual. It just depends how they go about it.
Whether it's Pokémon just straight up learning English (Meowth in the anime/Rotom-dex in the games), some kind of mental link (most Psychic types/legendaries/mythicals), or having such a clear connection/close bond with a Pokémon that you may as well be speaking the same language (that one time Pikachu literally spoke to Ash).
There'll be people that wanna debate what should and shouldn't count as "canon". But at the end of the day,
Pokémon aren't real, and it's your fantasy, so who really gives a fuck. Do whatever makes you happy and laugh at anyone autistic enough to try tell you you're doing it wrong.
