Authentic mainline pokemon DS carts are darker than a regular DS cart If I remember correctly this is because the cart is special and has some form of IR or wireless functionality built in.
This is why your black, white 2 and soul silver carts, look the way they do while your PMD EOS cart looks different.
However your plat carts clearly more closely resembled the PMD cart rather than the darker cart used for mainline pokemon games.
Of course none of this matters if platinum didn't use the darker carts that the other mainline used.
