I dunno, I don't mind them. My favorite is still Silver because of how much of a twat he is at the start and how his character development is reflected in his team, but I don't really understand the hate that Hop and Hau get. They're not mean by any stretch but they actually have character arcs, and the moments where they're clearly starting to fold under the pressure of trying to live up to their successful, famous relatives are genuinely interesting. Hau has some funny moments as a foil to Gladion and I like what they do with Hop by the end of the game.

This. Blue's team is literally themed around BST. Each member of his team has the highest BST for all Pokemon of their primary type, not including legendaries or the other starters. The only exception to this is Pidgeot.
Barry is not touching Blue, neither in his team nor in his attitude.
