>>47005875The LA artstyle is too toylike, and chose this even after LADX went out of its way to include the photos of link in a more immersive artstyle (which the switch version removed). BUT since Zelda is an action game, I can understand why it might be more restricted in its remake.
Pokemon doesn't have that excuse, they could remake the world to look like SWSH and were doing that, but while doing that they decided to copy botw & get experimental, so they had to make something more like the original real quick and easy before they piss off fans. this backfired of course.
I think LA & DP are both disappointing after we just had ALBW (the same link even!) and ORAS, proving these types of games work in at least a larger chibi style. but I think if you can make that work, then an on model version isnt much of an extra step. It would take effort to make it work but the point of a remake is to bring something up to speed without ruining its core gameplay.
well, for fans thats the point. for the companies the point is to release something quick & cheap since all the designing & marketing has been done before. probably also to train newer developers in a lot of cases.
