It's appeal is the fact its pokemon are acting like pokemon in the wild instead of just watching them sit there like brain dead goblins and wait for commands. Think, imagine being 9 when pokemon snap first came out and holy fuck you are seeing what pokemon do and look like in the wild, the closest thing we will ever get to pokemon irl.
