The very fact Nintendo keep shilling it at fresh kids year on year is ignored by that. Long-term fans are growing older, yes. I mean, the series is 25 years old so anyone playing from then's an old fart regardless when they started.
But just because they're heading to bus pass already, doesn't mean the devs or publisher have to care. It's quite the opposite, especially when running it this way has made everyone involved so much money over that past 25 years. The disconnect is that anons that make threads like these don't realize that pokemon is a fun monster collecting game for casuals and not an inchoate jrpg. Ignoring the truth of what I say gets you no-where. Nintendo KNOWS the olddfags will buy it anyway, they have the data, but only because they shilled it at kids continuously. If there was no fresh blood, there would be no franchise.

This, and kids don't ever play the games these days anyway. They just get all their knowledge of pokemon from the anime, merchandise, GO, and Super Smash Bros until they reach middle school. By then they MIGHT get into the series.
