>>47025004It's based a rocket ship, but that's not the "bad for humans" part of the design. It's also bamboo, which is an invasive plant species that can completely take over gardens and whose roots grow so long they can damage property. Bamboo roots are able to break through brickwork, climb up drains, etc. I disagree with the previous poster who said they're all based on things created by humans that fuck over humans. Primarily the UBs are based on pests, along with a second ironic element. The easiest to explain being:
- Nihilego, a jellyfish, jellyfish do not have brains but Nihilego is able to manipulate the behaviour of intelligent creatures.
- Buzzwole, a mosquito, but instead of having stick-thin limbs it's a big muscle guy.
- Pheremosa, a cockroach, cockroaches are considered to be disgusting but Pheremosa is a pretty lady.
- Celesteela, bamboo, bamboo is typically associated with old-world imagery of the east but this Celesteela is a rocket ship made of metal. Grass isn't even one of its typings, but it does learn grass moves like Leech Seed and Giga Drain.
- Kartana, I am uncertain the specific insect pest he is based on but I'm guessing it's a winged Aphid or something similar, a little buzzing pest that destroys crops. And I'm guessing the irony in it being an origami samurai is that those are both things that take great dedication and are considered honorable pursuits, which are the last thing you'd associate with a swarm of aphids.
