>>47021383Haxorus is one of my favorites. I like how he got First Impression in gen 8, it gives him a lot more utility late game and bug is a pretty good revenge killing type against many set up sweepers.

First Impression/Poison Jab
Swords dance on a wall then scale shot for the speed boost or predict a switch and use one of the coverage moves. Close Combat vs Earthquake depends on what threats the rest of your team can eliminate. Mold Breaker comes in handy when earthquaking levitate users or blowing through unaware pokemon, along with some other niche scenarios. Lum Berry often gives him a free swords dance on walls who don’t expect it and try to status, life orb can secure some K.O.’s and is nice for unboosted First Impression snipes late game, but Haxorus already has an incredible base 147 Attack stat.
While I love Haxorus, he is a bit of an underdog compared to swords dance scale shot Garchomp with the STAB earthquake and superior bulk. Still, I’m pretty successful with him.
I prefer the Gen 5 sprites, but I think it has more to do with the washed out colors of the 3d models and how fat and lifeless they are, rather than sprites being inherently superior.
