Are they beta gen 2 pokemon? Anyway I feel Gen 2 was a little light on pokemon (nowhere near as bad as Gen 6-8 obviously, jesus) so it would've been nice to get some of the beta lines. Though I think it was coding restrictions that stopped them?

Most Beta Pokémon unironically look like shit. Gorouchu is an awful design. Top left is too busy and I hate the legs and tail and neck and shit in the ears. Top right and bottom left are alright, I guess.

No we weren't. Most of the cut gen 1 pokemon were total trash, or had their concepts redesigned and released in later gens. Fans draw Gorochu to be way cooler than it most likely was. Post actual good betamons.
