What if this is a hint towards the gen 9 starters? Its about time they change the starter types after 25 years.

No it was probably just a ‘for fun choice’ since the only other trio that didn’t involve their original types or pure Flying was Psychic/Dark/Fighting.

I think if anything an alternative starter trio should be Flying/Rock/Fighting since it’s easier to understand and they all have equal relationships to eachother and themselves but that’s just personal preference
