Why are people so obsessed with apriballs? They're fucking useless yet everyone wants them so badly.

I went on a trading discord and tried to exchange a bunch of masterballs for 1 shiny dreepy, but the autist kept asking for some stupid useless heart balls and safari balls. I just don't get it. Why oh why do people love these trash pokeballs compared to something of actual use? Someone please explain.

I like the story behind them. Actually farming the apricorns and knowing the name of the crafter doing the work for you is neat. I really hope the Arceus game mentions them. Maybe the base pokeball is all there is, and you help a crafter invent the apriballs using old fashioned Sinnoh elbow grease.

I'm not a balltist, but I can't accept an Ultra Beast not in a Beast Ball. So I appreciate the desire for a thematically conducive collection, even if I don't fully indulge it. It's just about liking thematic rhythm, or as another anon said artificial rarity, or otherwise (as in my case) try to follow the lore you make for yourself.

In saying that, GF clearly recognises the issue/phenomenon because of the exorbitant cost of Beast Balls, and I guess they thought they could exploit balltisms to extend the games longevity? All it did for me was make me inject, since as usual GF misses the mark. Must suck to be a full-on balltist where the psychological drive means injecting isn't satisfying enough.

Look, if you don’t understand why I’m compelled to breed a competitive team with only shiny pink pokemon in love balls idk what to tell you.

Speaking of: Swampert, Walrein, and Mienshao are non negotiable. I’m conflicted about the rest though. Options are Honchkrow, Hypno, Furret (possibly DQ’d because it’s a nice soft/not eye burning color), Vaporeon, and Ampharos. Thoughts? Also yes this will be a horrible team and I’m way past that.

I do die a little every time I remember Cofagrigus can’t be legally obtained in a love ball though.

Oh shit really? I do all my breeding in Gen 7 because I couldn’t make myself suffer through the whole awful game in Sword and the IV checker is post game. Also for breeding the Thanos’d pokemon. Maybe I’ll try to finish... or buy a finished cartridge. Can you do that on the switch?
