I think Emboar is the only one of the three that's at least passable, although he's pretty boring. Definitely not helped by the fact that he was the third fucking Fire/Fighting starter in a row.

You're right about Samurott looking awkward and clumsy, and Serperior just looks like a weird banana. He doesn't really strike me as majestic, he just looks like he's stuck in his sleeping bag or something.

They're pretty meh.
Which is disappointing because I love the rest of the game. I'd just rather use the other available Grass/Fire/Water Pokemon.

Samurott is my fave of the three, i think he's really awkward and shitty depending on the art and model, but he can also look amazing if done right.
His blades hidden in tiny little shell compartments on his shoulders were too clunky and nonsensical. If they fix that up with ingame animations that do it justice i think he can vastly improve and shine for Legends.

Personally I think the could've done without the swords altogether.
Removing the swords removes the clunkiness of the design without infringing on it. Samurott already has the shell armor and a shell spear; that's more than enough to convey "samurai" without the need of swords.

Yes. Serperior is great, Emboar's only problem is being fire/fighting, and Samurott has grown on me. It's kind of akward but at the same time I love that its a quadruped. We haven't had one of those in a while

The wider upper body makes it look much more imposing and make it much easier to picture using its swords.

What funny is that for all the crap the Gen 5 sprites get from certain people of the involuntary mouth opening variety, Samurrot’s sprite is never brought up even though it has the glaring flaw of not showing Samurott actually using it shells (the main gimmick of of the Ott line)

Look, I love gen 5 as much as the next guy, but without proper adjustments to their BST, movesets and possibly typing, these 3 are bad.
Serperior needs a Dragon typing and +7 to speed
Emboar needs an overhaul on its BST
HP 110 -> 117
ATK 123 -> 125
DEF 65 -> 85
SPA 100 -> 60
SPD 65 -> 85
SPE 65 -> 65
Samurott needs a BST overhaul, type and moveset alteration. Things like making it part Fighting, giving it Sacred Sword, maybe Shell Smash, a BST that favors attack instead of being a slow mixed attacker
