>>47051389>I do still believe that if Gamefreak wants a character to come across as black they'd include some kind of visual cue other than dark skin, which a ton of other races have.I heard that large lips and noses are the visual cues that I should be looking for other than skin color and hair texture. What intrigues me about this is that Lenora doesn't have a prominent nose and the only thing highlighting her lips is that she wears lipstick, which means that a character doesn't need to have all four traits to be considered black by the community, yet it always goes back to whether or not their current hairstyle supports the idea for some people.
If I want to look for a character's origin, I ignore the genetics and look at things like clothing, behaviors, and other cultural cues that tie them to a specific area. Just looking at things skin deep is kinda shallow.
