Some one had this idea to buff Shell Armor by making it take less damage from Water, Flying and Ground, which I thought was interesting. They did something similar with Battle Armor but with Fighting, Dark and Bug to differentiate them)
Though I guess if there were going to be another broken starter, it would be a refreshing for it to be a Water type this time. I think the only time the Water type was leagues above the other two was Johto but that's only because Masuda went out of his way to give Typhlosion and Meganium the most barren and unusable movepools in the history of Pokemon outside of gimmicks like unown.
