>>47051203I don't like Digimon and Yugioh because they keep introducing 100s and 100s of new monsters with throwaway forgettable designs. If you can name every Digimon in existence or every Yugioh monster in existence, I would be honestly impressed. There's thousands of these forgettable little shits. Only a very select few like Agumon and Blue Eyes White Dragon end up becoming memorable monsters among all the forgettable trash.
I prefer Pokemon and SMT games because whenever they introduce a new design, that monster will likely be a recurring monster in future games. You can expect Pikachu to be in the latest pokemon game, and expect Pixie to be in the latest smt game. And because they're recurring, this helps them become more memorable as you get to re-obtain these familiar faces in old and future games.
No opinion on Yokai Watch tho. I haven't played or watched anything about that.
I don't have much knowledge about Dragon Quest either. I did play a bit of DQ5 and I am watching the current anime, but I can't give my honest opinion on how I feel about it being a mon franchise. If it even counts as one.
