Look I don't want to do meme opinions about this, here are the genuine facts:

The Toby Fox music for this game is the worst of his work. The worst. Even his weaker Homestuck songs had more going for them that what Toby made for Town. Maybe this happened because he knew the game stunk and thus didn't put any effort into it, or maybe this happened because he can't work outside of his comfort zone, or maybe he just couldn't be bothered that week. Who knows, but the point remains that it is fucking bad.

It basically is. Despite what retards may tell you, GF were very upfront about this being a small project for the sake of tested new recruits. The team only had about 20 people on it for christ's sake, that's less than a 5th of GF's already paltry dev number.

This game happened before he started realizing that he needed to take care of his rapidly deteriorating body (the dude fucked his wrists, can barely type or play piano and that's part of why he needed to put a team together for DR) so part of it could be that too. I'll agree that it's definitely his worst work. My money goes on his shitty health and him never actually having a boss before. Hussie never told him to do anything explicitly for HS and he has been his own boss on every other project.
